About Us
Jack and Katie technically first met at a Big Gigantic show at Red Rocks in 2018—but with lasers flying, bass bumping, and Jack headbanging in a straw hat, it’s fair to say neither had a clue who the other was. Their real origin story begins two years later when their mutual friend Brielle brought Katie to a party at Jack’s Ballpark apartment.
Katie was instantly charmed by Jack’s uncanny ability to sing every lyric of Sweetest Girl by Akon and sink every shot on the beer pong table. Sensing destiny (and talent), she made her move by offering to be his beer pong partner.
Backed by the strong approval of their mutual friends—who all insisted they were a perfect match—the two quickly became inseparable (or at least when Jack could be convinced to emerge from his introvert cave). From concerts and out-of-state weddings to camping in questionable conditions and racing down ski slopes, they built a relationship on adventure, a shared love for music, and mutual stubbornness.
The first real test? Four months in, COVID came knocking. The two were quarantined in Jack’s tiny apartment bedroom for a week. No breaks. No alone time. One shared bathroom. If that doesn’t scream soulmates, we don’t know what does.
Since then, Katie has taken Jack global—planning trips to Costa Rica, Thailand, and every place with spicy food and cheap flights. Jack, in turn, has dragged Katie into his Colorado lifestyle: fly fishing, snowboarding, homecooking, and yelling at sporting events (she’s now a Washington Commanders fan… sorry Joe!).
Then came the big moment: their third annual Steamboat ski trip. Jack took the ring to the mountain (shoutout Frodo) and found a perfect 360-degree viewpoint to pop the question. Katie screamed “F**K YES!!!” loud enough to trigger a mini avalanche, and they spent the weekend celebrating with fresh powder and 17 of their closest Denver friends.
Now, Jack and Katie are beyond excited to turn their (Katie’s) dream beach wedding into reality—complete with tacos, tequila, and all of you. They can’t wait to laugh, dance, and make some unforgettable memories in Mexico with their favorite people on Earth.
